CITRUS HEIGHTS, Calif., May 7, 2015 – La Petite Academy is proud to honor teacher Nichole Mayer at its Citrus Heights, California school location as this year’s recipient of the company’s highly coveted Lisa Miskimins Mentorship Award. Mayer was chosen from among nearly 17,000 early education teachers nationwide from La Petite Academy and its sister brands in the Learning Care Group portfolio – Childtime, Tutor Time, The Children’s Courtyard and Montessori Unlimited.
This award was established in recognition of Lisa Miskimins, Senior Vice President of Field Operations – an outstanding leader and mentor to many in the early childhood education industry. The intent of this award is to recognize a teacher who shows remarkable leadership attributes and an ability to guide others to perform at their best.
A Lead Pre-K teacher and the inaugural member of her district’s Education and Literacy Focus team, Mayer has been instrumental in mentoring other Pre-K teachers to help them effectively implement La Petite Academy’s proprietary curriculum.
“Nichole is a remarkable educator and a wonderful role model for her fellow teachers,” said Teri Davies, Division Vice President at Learning Care Group. “Her dedication and stellar teaching capabilities shine through not only in the classroom, but in the support she provides her peers every day. Nichole goes above and beyond to help colleagues reach their full potential.”
Mayer has inspired others with her engaging enthusiasm and dynamic personal style. She demonstrates one of the greatest hallmarks of a gifted leader: the ability to recognize and encourage leadership traits in others.
