October 25, 2010 – Imagine Tomorrow, the leading provider of computer classes for young children and Learning Care Group, the second largest early education and child care provider in North America, have partnered to bring Imagine Tomorrow classes to select Learning Care Group locations nationwide, including Tutor Time, La Petite Academy, Childtime and The Children’s Courtyard.
“As a leader in early education, we are proud to offer our students an enrichment program like Imagine Tomorrow,” said Marshall Whaling, Chief Operating Officer for Learning Care Group. “Having an understanding of computers is essential for success in school and life, and giving our young children the opportunity to grasp this technology at an early age truly sets us apart from others in the industry.”
Step into an Imagine Tomorrow class and you will not see a “typical” computer class. Instead, you will find a group of very young children working together as they take on the roles of computer detectives on an exciting learning adventure. You will hear their voices respond enthusiastically to the interactive video voicemail that gives them their mission for the day – to solve a funny technology problem somewhere in the World of Imagine Tomorrow. Their mission could take them to places such as Microchip Mountain, Keyboard Castle or Internet Island.
Next, the children move on to their own computers where they work on Imagine Tomorrow software relating to the day’s mission. The custom software automatically adapts to each child’s level, as they apply new technology skills, as well as reading, math and critical thinking skills. All of the young computer detectives end the class with smiles on their faces, having successfully solved the mission.
“This is so magical!” says Gina, a student at Tutor Time in Phoenix, AZ. Gina and her class just solved “The Case of The Magnificent Meteor Shower” in which the software of the day simulated how to use search engines to look up weather online. “I wish every day was computer day!” says another student of Imagine Tomorrow.
Imagine Tomorrow’s unique program was developed specifically for very young children starting at age 3. It is the only curriculum and custom software designed to teach children everything from basic mouse, keyboard and navigational skills to more advanced mobile concepts, such as: networks, satellites, cell phones, hotspots, wireless, email and the Internet. Computers are always integrated as a tool, not a toy. The result for children is a genuine understanding and appreciation for technology and the role it can play in solving problems, completing tasks and communicating with others.
“Children today are surrounded by technology at a very young age, both inside and outside of the home,” says educator and Imagine Tomorrow founder, Judy Patterson. “Technology fascinates children and engages multiple senses, which makes it such a powerful tool for learning.”
Learning Care Group is the first national child care provider to form a strategic partnership with Imagine Tomorrow.
