AURORA, Colo., April 9, 2010 – In honor of Week of the Young Child, La Petite Academy of Aurora has partnered with the local Lions Club to offer free vision testing for children. The event will take place at the academy – located at 17001 E. Iliff Ave. – on Friday, April 16th from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.
“Vision is closely linked to the learning process,” said Freedom Passarelli, academy director. “As child advocates, we know that many students may not complain of vision problems because they don’t know any better. So we are honored to partner with the Lions Club and bring this testing to the community free of charge.”
Appointments are not necessary and local families are encouraged to participate.
Week of the Young Child takes place April 11th – 17th and was created by the National Association for the Education of Young Children to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families, and to recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs.
