The bill, introduced today in the U.S. House of Representatives, seeks to make child care more affordable while empowering employers to help.
[NOVI,MI] – Learning Care Group (LCG), a leading provider of early childhood education, today announced its endorsement of the Affordable Child Care Act, a bipartisan plan to reduce child care costs for working families.

About the Affordable Child Care Act (H.R. 1403)
Led by Reps. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA-1) and Sharice Davids (D-KS-3), this legislation builds on existing tax credits to further ease the burden of child care costs for families:
- Increases to the Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit (CDCTC) to provide up to $6,000 for families with one child and $12,000 for families with two or more children, allowing families to claim up to 50% of eligible expenses.
- Expands the Dependent Care Assistance Program (DCAP) by raising the maximum pre-tax withholding to $10,000 per household.
- Raises the Employer-Provided Child Care Tax Credit (Sec. 45F) cap to $300,000 annually, up from $150,000, encouraging more businesses to invest in child care solutions for their employees.
This bill is a reintroduction of previous legislation (H.R. 8635 – 118th Congress) led by Reps. Davids and former Mark Molinaro (R-NY-19) in the 118th Congress.
